Eye Care

I See Optometry is a full-service primary care optometric practice

Our team has a reputation of providing personalized attention and expert advice to each of our patients based on vast experience and the support of our state of the art diagnostic equipment.

Comprehensive eye examinations

We perform thorough comprehensive eye examinations which not only determine a patient’s prescription but also look at the health of the entire eye. The eye exam can reveal evidence of diseases such as diabetes, hypertension and high cholesterol. It can also detect specific eye diseases such as glaucoma, retinal pathologies, and cataracts.

Headache/eyestrain related to computer use or reading

Frequent computer use can cause visual strain. We carefully assess your visual capacities and make appropriate recommendations based on our findings. We can recommend a specific lens for computer use and reading. This high tech lens enables one to work at the computer without straining the eyes.

Contact lenses

I See Optometry offers complete contact lens examinations, fittings, and follow-up care. Exciting advances in contact lens research enable more patients to enjoy the benefits of contact lens wear. Our clinic carries a variety of contact lenses, including frequent replacement, astigmatism-correcting, bifocal, rigid gas permeable, scleral lenses and ultra violet blocking. We carry more than 10,000 trial lenses so we are able to accommodate you on the day of your visit.

In addition, we expertly fit rigid contact lenses for keratoconus and high myopia (-12 to-35).

If you have never worn contact lenses and are interested in having them fitted, our optometrists and opticians will be pleased to discuss options best suited for you. If you wear contact lenses, we would ask you to wear them on the day of your examination in order for the doctor to verify the fit of the lenses.

Children’s eye care

Our clinic is equipped to perform a complete assessment of your child’s eyes. The Canadian Association of Optometrists strongly recommends a child’s first visual examination take place between the ages of 6 and 9 months, and annually once they start school.

What to expect at your first appointment

An eye exam is about more than just a prescription for glasses. An optometrists is a front line primary health care provider. Our optometrists specialize in the examination, treatment, and prevention of diseases and disorders of the eye. From eyestrain, infection, or minor injuries, to ocular manifestations of systemic conditions, maintaining the health of the eye, as well as excellent vision, is our top priority.

In order to better examine your eyes, we may need to dilate your pupils. In such a case, you may be sensitive to light following the exam. Reading and driving may be difficult, or in some cases, impossible, for a few hours.

Please note that the duration of an eye examination can vary between twenty minutes to two hours. However, we do understand that it is not always possible to complete the entire exam on the same day. We are happy to accommodate you and schedule necessary additional diagnostic tests another day.
